An account of his family and early life, why he went to sea, etc. His first experience of Sea Life, description of a North American Emigrant Ship, his first introduction to ice. Peter the Whaler was characteristic of many adventure stories which captured the imagination of Victorian youth. Nice illustrative etchings by Ronalds. Shelf wear, slight wrinkling to top of spine, end papers age toned, contents clean.
