Spence, 829 (recording the scarce original edition of 1901). Manual on the exploration of Antarctica and various branches of science for the use of members of the British National Antarctic Expedition under Capt. R. F. Scott. This book was prepared with the intention of giving easy access of information, otherwise inaccessible, which was required by officers in their scientific investigations. Includes pages and extracts gathered together under various headings: geography; Antarctic climate; the Aurora; Instructions for collecting rocks; Antarctic sledge travelling etc, The geography section includes the first printing of the Journal of the John Biscoe.
