Schwatka, U.S.A.: xxiv, pages 25-336, [32pages publishers advertisements], 3 folding maps, 28 b/w plates, folding facsimile of handwriting. Original cloth covers, gilt titling and blind stamped portrait of Franklin to front cover. Shelf wear, minor staining to covers, minor repaired to tears at the margins of the very fragile maps maps, previous owners on free end paper otherwise contents clean. The 5th Edition is in a slightly smaller format than the previous editions, ideal for travelling. A lovely copy. This is a narrative of Lady Franklin's final searching expedition under Capt. M'Clintock, drawn from his day-to-day journal.
