    Description Facsmile reprint of the A. & C. Black 1922 edition, the folding map is a non-folding frontispiece in this edition; xii, 288 pages, illustrated, 16 pages of b/w illustrations, 2 maps. Black cloth covers with gilt titling to spine. Shelf wear, appears unread. Contents clean. Interesting account of the ill-fated journey of the whale ship "Diana" during the mid-nineteenth century. The author's log of a fourteen-month whaling voyage to the North Sea and the Davis Strait, which resulted in the Diana - the first whaling steamer in Hull - becoming stranded in ice for several months. Not all survived the ordeal, but she did sail back home.
