    Description 1977 Edition: Reprint of the 1922 edition, xii, 288 pages, illustrated, 16 pages of b/w illustrations, 2 maps. Original covers in unclipped dust jacket,. Shelf wear, contents clean. Interesting account of the ill-fated journey of the whale ship "Diana" during the mid-nineteenth century. The author's log of a fourteen-month whaling voyage to the North Sea and the Davis Strait, which resulted in the Diana - the first whaling steamer in Hull - becoming stranded in ice for several months. Not all survived the ordeal, but she did sail back home.
