Shelf wear, covers grubby, some smudges on page edges but overall good tidy condition. Michael Grzimek who sadly died in an aeroplane crash & was buried in the Serengeti. A most important book, for it was instrumental in the crucial extension of the Serengeti National Park. Published after the death of Michael Grzimek when his plane entangled with a vulture at Ngorogoro. His father, Bernhard was one of the most important conservationists of his time. He was the head of Frankfurt Zoo for nearly 30 years. The film of this book won an Academy Award in 1959.
