Original covers, no dust jacket as issued. A lovely reprint retaining much of the appearance of the original First Edition. The official account of the expedition was by Borchgrevink under the title of First on the Antarctic Continent in 1901, but Bernacchi had also been busy writing and his account of the expedition was also published in 1901. "Expedition account by the physicist including the location of the South Magnetic Pole and a summary of the scientific results. Appendices on climate, terrestrial magnetism, zoology, geology, astronomy. A thoughtful account with greater details of significant events than Borchgrevink's book.
