Ex Libri, 2 Bembridge school library stamps on end papers, no other library markings. Previous owners inscription on front end paper otherwise contents clean. Some spotting mainly to prelims and page edges. Shelf wear, top of spine missing a small piece,bumping to covers. An account of a Soviet Expedition in which the participants flew to the North Pole and passed eleven days there. It also covers the experiences of four members of the expedition who stayed longer at the pole, and the four scientist who lived for 8 months drifting on a chunk of ice in the middle of the Arctic Ocean eventually rescued off the coast of Greenland.
