Shelf wear, dedication presentation on half title otherwise contents clean. A nice copy.AB 8185. Johansen's account is considerably scarcer than Nansen's best selling FARTHEST NORTH. Johansen was a member of Nansen's FRAM expedition - "so eager to take part in the expedition, as no other post could be found for him, he accepted that of stoker" - and his companion on the famous journey over the ice towards the north pole and then to Franz Josef Land.
