    Description 1st Edition: Foreword by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, 416 pages, beautifully illustrated throughout, 47 watercolours by the author, numerous b/w drawings, 7 maps (1 folding at rear). Original covers in unclipped dust jacket. Old Sellotape stains to end papers where cover was once attached, small closed and neatly repaired tear to dust jacket. Contents clean. A lovely copy of this beautiful book. Fascinating reading giving a personal insight to the Expedition. Wilson served as both zoologist and doctor on the 'Discovery' and later the 'Terra Nova' Antarctic Expeditions. He was one of the party to the Pole dying tragically in his tent alongside Scott.
