Containing observations on the natural phenomena, history, literature, and antiquities of the island; and the religion, character, manners, and customs of its inhabitants. " A good source for information on Iceland, with much on the natural phenomenon, the people and their customs, etc., by this agent of the British and Foreign Bible Society, "instructed to investigate and make arrangements for supplying the want of Bibles there." Rebound and lacks folding map and illustrations. Covers grubby, foxing throughout, some pages slightly warped. Reading copy.
